Full Transparency

How DraftMySize generates your patterns.

We believe trust is built through transparency. Here is exactly how our algorithm works, what standards we apply, and how we validate every pattern before it reaches your hands.

Engine Architecture

The 4 Pillars of Our Algorithm

functions

Müller & Sohn — Mathematical Foundation

Our engine is built on the Müller & Sohn drafting system, the global standard for professional pattern making since 1891. Every point, curve, and dart is computed from interlinked geometric formulas — no linear scaling.

account_tree

Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG)

Unlike software that runs sequential scripts, our engine models patterns as a dependency graph. When a measurement changes, only the affected subgraph is recomputed — guaranteeing real-time performance.

precision_manufacturing

Constraint Solvers

Sleeve cap curves are solved via Newton iteration to match armhole length exactly. Darts use slash-and-spread transformation with rotation around the apex. Precision is ±0.2mm.

verified_user

Topological Validation

Before every export, the engine verifies that each piece forms a closed non-self-intersecting contour, that paired seams meet length tolerances, and that seam allowances don't self-intersect.

Quality Pipeline

From Computation to Your Cutting Table

01

Mathematical Formulas

Every pattern starts with verified M&S formulas: neckline width = neck circ / 6, armhole depth = bust / 8 + 6.8cm, etc.

02

Geometric Validation

96 unit tests verify absence of self-intersection, aberrant angles, tiny segments, and area coherence. Every piece is validated against a structural manifest.

03

Seam Contracts

Front armhole length must match back armhole + sleeve cap within ±1.5mm tolerance. These contracts are verified automatically.

04

Deterministic Snapshots

Every generated pattern produces a unique integrity hash. The same measurement set always produces the same pattern — guaranteed reproducibility.

Morphological Adjustments

Our engine integrates essential morphological corrections that competing software ignores:

FBA (Full Bust Adjustment)

Isolates cup depth from global measurements. Cups A through F.

SBA (Small Bust Adjustment)

Reduces excess bodice fabric for cups < B.

Posture Correction

Erect, stooped, or swayback. Adjusts back and front automatically.

The Team

Built by sewing engineers

Our Mission

DraftMySize was born from a shared frustration: why is industrial CAD inaccessible to independent creators? We rewrote the entirety of pattern drafting algorithms.

Transparency Commitment

Inspired by the Open Source philosophy of FreeSewing, we document our algorithmic choices. No black boxes. Your pattern is the result of strict, verifiable geometry.
